THORNTON, Colo. — One person was killed and four people, including an infant, were hospitalized after a rollover accident in Thornton on Saturday, the Thornton Police Department said.

Police said the accident happened just after 9 a.m. on Saturday at Quebec Street and Highway 7.

A Jeep with four people inside ran a stop sign headed northbound on Quebec Street when it was hit by a pickup truck going westbound on Highway 7, causing the Jeep to roll, police said.

One person in the Jeep was pronounced dead at the scene and the other passengers, including the infant, were hospitalized. The driver of the truck, the only person in that vehicle, was also taken to the hospital, police said.

The intersection was closed for several hours while police investigated. The conditions of the four people hospitalized are unknown.
