DENVER -- An officer fired a gun during an incident Monday, the Denver Police Department said.

Police responded to West Third Avenue and Osage Street -- not far from Interstate 25 -- about noon for a "weapons call." The details of the call have not been released.

A suspect was taken to the hospital for evaluation, but the injuries do not appear to be from a gunshot, police said.

Police have not released any information on the suspect or what prompted the officer to fire the gun.

There is an ongoing investigation into the incident.
