DENVER -- A United Airlines service representative is accused of stealing almost $130,000 in jewelry from a New York philanthropist who was flying from Aspen to Denver International Airport.

Her jewels were packed in a makeup bag that had fallen out of her luggage. Police said surveillance video showed Rafael Magana leaving with the case.

Another employee had apparently entrusted the jewels with Magana, hoping he would make sure they got back to the woman.

That allegedly did not happen until police got involved.

The jewels included diamond earrings, a pearl bracelet, a 10-carat diamond star and a gold Bulgari watch.
