The historic and deadly flooding in Louisiana has left thousands with no place to go and in desperate need of help.

There are several different ways you can help from Colorado.

Here’s a look at some of the ways you can help the flooding victims in Louisiana:

The Salvation Army: The organization is helping thousands of residents who were forced to evacuate. You can volunteer or donate money to the Salvation Army’s Gulf Coast fund to help the cause.

The American Red Cross: The Red Cross is providing meals and shelters for residents who need someplace to go. You can contribute financially to the cause by going here and selecting “Louisiana Floods” from the drop-down menu. You can also text the word LAFLOODS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

Louisiana Strong GoFundMe: Residents in Louisiana need toiletries and basic health items. This GoFundMe campaign will distribute those items and other essentials to victims and first responders.

Operation Blessing International: This organization has deployed volunteers to help with cleanup efforts. The organization is also providing hot meals. If you’re interested in volunteering, email More information is available here.
