Xenith is recalling some football helmets because the shell of a shell of certain gloss or metallic painted on some of the football can crack, resulting in a potential impact injury hazard. No injuries have been reported, according to the company.

The helmets being recalled are Xenith gloss or metallic painted EPIC Varsity, X2 Varsity, X2E Varsity and youth football helmets manufactured or factory reconditioned and painted by Xenith between May 1, 2015 and March 18, 2016, the company says.

The company said these helmets were sold through direct team, school, and customer purchases, and through certain retail outlets and online sellers.

If your helmet is part of this recall Xenith is replacing all affected football helmets at no charge to customers.
