Off-duty Adams County sheriff’s deputy seriously injured in crash

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — An off-duty Adams County sheriff’s deputy on his way to work was injured in a crash involving a truck on Thursday morning, the Commerce City Police Department said.

Numerous agencies responded to the crash at Colorado Boulevard and East 52nd Avenue. The crash caused a fuel leak.

The off-duty deputy, who was traveling in an unmarked vehicle, was pulled out of the vehicle and taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Colorado Boulevard was closed from East 52nd Avenue to East 48th Avenue, the Colorado Department of Transportation said.

Police are still investigating to determine who was at fault.
