Gautam Sethi, Chief Technology Officer for Douglas County Schools, says these are some of the things you should look for when shopping for a computer for your student:

- Long battery life (8 + hours to last a school day)

- Lightweight (less than 3.5 lbs)

- Quick startup and sleep time (<15 seconds)

- Adequate amount of memory (>= 8 Gb for windows and PCs)

- Solid State hard disk (tad bit more reliable than spinning disks)

- Buy a replacement warranty and cover if your child has a tendency to drop or lose things :)
