MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — A Connecticut woman is accused of smashing the windshield and windows of her boyfriend’s truck over a Facebook like.

Police said Yorka Geneava McKnight, 27, faces third-degree criminal mischief and second-degree breach of peace charges.

Officers said they were called on Tuesday afternoon for a domestic disturbance. They found the truck’s owner standing by the vehicle. Its windows were smashed and the driver’s side was scratched.

The victim told police that his child’s mother, McKnight, woke him up over something on Facebook.

He said it was his birthday and one of his friends posted a “happy birthday” message. He said a girl he had cheated on McKnight with in the past liked the birthday comment.

The victim said an argument followed. Police said it escalated to the point where McKnight took a hammer out of the victim’s toolbox and attacked his truck.

They said the victim and McKnight have been in a relationship for 13 years. They have a 9-year-old daughter together.

No children were present at the time of the incident. Police said McKnight and the victim moved into the home a week ago and intend to purchase it.

McKnight was released at the scene. She faced a judge on Wednesday in Middletown.
