CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP,  Mich. — A Michigan police officer is receiving a lot of praise after he pulled over an ice cream truck on Thursday to make sure a little girl got her ice cream, according to WXYZ-TV.

Police say officer Matt McPhillips was working overtime when he saw a little girl pouting on the side of the road. When he asked the girl what was wrong, she said that she had raced outside for ice cream, but just missed the truck.

McPhillips followed the truck and got the driver to turn around to give the little girl her ice cream.

“He watched the ice cream truck driving away and turning the corner. We’re really proud of him and it fits his character,” Chesterfield Township Police Sgt. Clinton Bowerson told WXYZ.
