Auto-bicycle crash shuts down westbound Sixth Avenue near Federal

DENVER — Westbound Sixth Avenue was shut down just west of Interstate 25 after a vehicle hit a bicyclist on Friday afternoon, the Denver Police Department said.

The crash caused big traffic problems as the evening commute began.

The bicyclist was taken to the hospital and westbound Sixth Avenue just before Federal Boulevard was closed during the investigation.

Police reopened the highway about 5:15 p.m.
