DENVER — Police investigated the death of a man in the parking garage at the Denver Veterans Affairs Medical Center campus Wednesday.

A VA spokesman said the man apparently took his own life.

The Denver VAMC parking structure in the 1000 block of Clermont Street was closed during the investigation. The spokesman said they anticipated the garage would reopen around 5 p.m. for staff and veterans who were not able to get the vehicles and leave the garage.

Officials had not released the man’s name.

“If you are a Veteran in distress, immediate help is available at VeteransCrisisLine.net or by calling the Crisis Line at 1-800-273-8255 (press 1) or texting 838255,” the VA said in a news release.
