THORNTON, Colo. -- A man is recovering from broken bones after being run over by another man in his own driveway.

Derrick Gremillion was with his girlfriend driving home from Boulder on Monday night. The couple said the man was driving erratically and eventually followed them to their Ivy Street home.

Gremillion went to confront the driver.

"The guy just gasses it. Looks like he's going to go straight, then turns the wheel and hits Derrick," said his girlfriend.

The driver ran over Gremillion, breaking his leg and leaving tire marks on his clothing. Police are looking for a dark blue Toyota 4Runner with a disabled veteran license plate.

"I scream at him, 'You're seriously going to hit him with your car?' Then, Derrick starts to fall to the ground and the guy ran him over and then took off," the girlfriend said.

Neighbors were able to get a shot of the car on security cameras.

Gremillion was still recovering after surgery Wednesday, but his family was still reliving the nightmare.

"I thought he was gonna die. I thought I was going to watch him die in front of me," his girlfriend said.
