ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- A 10-year-old boy might have the coolest broken wrist story ever.

On Friday, Grant Thornham was in the crowd on the hillside at Broncos training camp when he tried to catch the football as kicker Brandon McManus attempted field goals. One of those hit him hard in the wrist, and a trip to the doctor revealed it was broken.

“The ball came towards me really fast and I didn’t know what to do,” Thornham said.

“It wasn’t his fault. I think it was my fault for trying to catch it,” he added. “I didn’t have any idea how fast it was going to come.”

But  it was all good because on Sunday, sporting an orange cast, Thornham met McManus, and not only did the Broncos kicker sign his cast, but he also gave him a signed football and posed for a picture.

Thornham also got to meet receiver Demaryius Thomas and coach Gary Kubiak.
