CLEVELAND — Radio host Laura Ingraham brought the house down Wednesday night with an attack on the Donald Trump holdouts during her speech at the Republican National Convention, but it her wave that got attention on Twitter.
Ingraham gave the awkward salute after a speech that had the crowd on it’s feet as she called for support for Trump.
“We should all — even you boys with wounded feelings and bruised egos — we love you, but you must honor your pledge to support Donald Trump now,” she said.
As the crowd roared on its feet, she added: “Tonight.”
The message seemed to be for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who was scheduled to speak later in the evening and had yet to endorse Trump. Cruz did not endorse Trump in his speech.
The message was also seemingly directed at the delegates on the floor who protested Trump’s nomination, though they were vastly outvoted in RNC proceedings this week.
“I hope they’re listening,” Ingraham said.
Ingraham suggested as well that Trump won his party’s nomination because of his confrontations with the media.
“To all my friends up there in the press, you all know why in your heart Donald Trump won the Republican nomination. You know it,” Ingraham said. “You know why he won it? Because he dared to call out the phonies, the frauds and the corruption that has gone unexposed and uncovered for too long.”
“Do your job,” Ingraham challenged the media. “Doing your job is a novel concept.”
Trump tweeted his appreciation.AlertMe
