Memorial for boy who fell out of window

DENVER — A 2-year-old boy who died after falling from an upper story apartment window last week was identified Monday.

Colton Bolsinger died from blunt force injuries, the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner ruled. His manner of death was an accident, the coroner’s office said after completing the toddler’s autopsy.

Colton fell from the window at the Mint Urban Apartments near East Mississippi Avenue and South Colorado Boulevard on Thursday afternoon.

A passerby who found him on the ground below the open window called 911 around 2:40 p.m.

The child’s mother, the mother’s roommate and other children were inside the apartment at the time, the Denver Police Department said.

Police had said earlier that the fatal fall appeared to be an accident, but negligence was being considered and investigated. No one had been arrested or cited.

On Friday, neighbors dropped off notes, teddy bears and flowers at a memorial set up under the window. They said the community is in mourning.

“I left a couple of flowers, a little daisy and a note just offering my support with my name and apartment number and stuff so they knew they could reach out to me if they needed someone to talk to or even a hug,” neighbor Lindsey Edgar said.
