One killed in multivehicle crash on I-70

GOLDEN, Colo. -- One person was killed after a multivehicle crash on westbound Interstate 70 west of Sixth Avenue late Tuesday afternoon, the Golden Police

The crash happened about 4:15 p.m. and involved a semitruck and three passenger vehicles, police said.

The driver of one of the passenger vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene and one person was taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

The driver of the semitruck, a 41-year-old Samoan man from California with a valid commercial license, was taken to the Golden Police Department where he consented to a blood test.

He was released pending the outcome of the investigation. Westbound I-70 was reopened about 9:30 p.m.
