LUTZ, Fla. -- A terrifying moment of extreme road rage was caught on camera in Florida after a driver hit the gas pedal and appeared to intentionally turn into two people on a motorcycle.

The driver of a silver vehicle plowed into a man and woman on a motorcycle, sending them flying into the air.

The man who shot the video said the road rage started about a half-mile earlier when the vehicle cut off the motorcyclists. At the next red light, they started yelling at each other.

When the light turned green, the driver of the vehicle swerved to hit the motorcyclist instead of going straight.

The man on the motorcycle, Joe Calderazzo, is a Navy veteran. He and the other person were taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries and later released.

“I thought the guy was trying to kill us obviously,” Calderazzo told WTSP. “You know you don’t know what’s going through your mind. Is he going to put the car in reverse? Is he going to turn around? Is he going to stop and pull out a gun? You don’t know what’s going on.”

Police arrested the driver of the vehicle, 31-year-old Robert Paul Vance, a few minutes later. He is being charged with hit-and-run and aggravated battery.
