DENVER -- The Friday before Memorial Day weekend is traditionally a very busy one for travelers. Recently, the Transportation Security Agency suggested arriving at the airport three hours before a flight.

On Friday, TSA Pre-Check passengers reported wait lines of five to 20 minutes at Denver International Airport. The fastest traveler in general security clocked in with a nine-minute wait around noon. Clear members reported no wait times.

Randy Westervelt and her brother clocked in at 27 minutes, 22 seconds.

"I was very surprised. I was expecting it to be a lot worse," Westervelt said.

Experienced travelers say DIA is typically not as bad as other major airports.

"I'm a two-hour guy. I don't believe what the media is saying," frequent traveler Tom Schmatz said.
