Douglas County Schools superintendent resigns, takes job in Texas

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- The superintendent of Douglas County Schools announced Tuesday night she is leaving for a new job.

Liz Fagen was the only finalist for a superintendent position in Humble, Texas, a suburb of Houston.

She'll start that job for the next school year.

Fagen has served as the Douglas County Schools superintendent since 2010, leading Colorado's third-largest school district. It has about 67,000 students.
