THORNTON, Colo. -- A woman who might have suffered a medical episode was taken into custody after causing damage to 14 vehicles on Monday afternoon, the Thornton Police Department said.

Police said the woman was driving eastbound on East 104th Avenue near Washington Street in Thornton about 3:45 p.m. Monday when she side-swiped four vehicles and rear-ended a fifth.

Police said the woman took the fifth vehicle while the owner was inspecting damage and drove north on Washington Street, where she caused nine more accidents near Malley Drive in Northglenn.

Police took the woman to a hospital for medical evaluation. Two people suffered minor injuries, police said.

Investigators are looking into possible charges against the woman.
