FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- A massage therapist in Fort Collins is accused of sexually assaulting a client, the Fort Collins Police Department said.
Police said 30-year-old Marcos, or Marc, Duran worked at the busy South Miramont Lifestyle Fitness Center. On April 11, during an appointment, police said a woman reported that Duran was massaging her leg when he began to inappropriately and intentionally touch her genitals.
"Our investigators did look into that and determined that it was not just an accidental, short contact," police spokeswoman Kate Kimble said. "There was intentional contact that we do believe happened."
Police said the woman reported that she told Duran to stop immediately and he complied. She then got dressed and left. The victim reported the incident to police and had a sexual assault nurse examiner exam completed.
Duran is facing charges of unlawful sexual contact and sexual assault, both Class 4 felonies.
"Miramont Lifestyle Fitness of Fort Collins has recently learned of the arrest of a former employee. Upon learning of the charge, Miramont took immediate and appropriate corrective action," general manager Lindsay Randall said in a statement. "Miramont has been in business since 1996 and has never before experienced an instance of this type of alleged behavior. We are sensitive to the situation at hand and will support the process in every way possible. At this point, it is in the hands of the legal system."
Police said they don't know if there are other victims, but they fear there could be.
"That's one of the reasons that we wanted to put this information out there," Kimble said. "If people have been inappropriately touched, we urge them to come forward."
