Taxi cab driver injured in attempted robbery in Aurora; three in custody

AURORA, Colo. -- A taxi cab driver was injured in an attempted robbery Tuesday morning, the Aurora Police Department said.

The incident happened near Chambers Road and East Smith Road before 6:30 a.m. The cab driver suffered nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

Two suspects were taken into custody and another suspect remained at large, but he was later apprehended, police said.

Police are advising drivers to avoid the area as the investigation continues, though both roads remain open.
