Driver slams vehicle into Fort Collins home

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — A vehicle crashed into a home on Sunday, sending the driver to the hospital, the Fort Collins Police Department said.

The crash happened in the 700 block of East Prospect Road about 11:20 a.m. Sunday. None of the three people inside the home was injured.

Police said the vehicle was traveling westbound on Prospect Road when it went off the road, drove through a yard and hit the east side of the house, going through the garage and living area.

The male driver, 32-year-old Thomas Collins of Fort Collins, was transported to Poudre Valley Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

Police said Collins has been summoned for reckless driving, driving under the influence of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
