DENVER -- April Fools' Day is full of what we call here at FOX 31 Denver as shenanigans. This year was no different.
It’s hard to know on this day what is true and what is a prank.
Denver International Airport started the shenanigans with a poll on social media asking what color they should paint the famous mustang in front of the airport.
“The “Blucifer” jokes end now, it’s time for a #HorseOfADifferentColor,” the tweet said.
After hours of votes and discussion … April Fools!
Also, a thank you to all the concerned viewers of our sister station, Channel 2 News. Traffic anchor Vicky Evans, who is about nine months pregnant, appeared to go into labor on live television during "Daybreak" only to return moments later and say … April Fools!
Duped again. Then we spotted a nice little shout out for Colorado State University. It posted a picture on Facebook of Jimmy Fallon at Los Angeles International Airport wearing Rams gear. Only to reveal a few hours later … April Fools!
Then there was a story about Native Roots Marijuana Dispensary seeking naming rights at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
“Definitely feels like a joke,” one local said.
Nope, that one is for real.
And then came the biggest prank in April Fools Day history. The newsroom was in on it. And I was completely fooled. Check out the video for those details.
