WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — A 60-year-old man was arrested Thursday morning after he drew a knife on officers, the Wheat Ridge Police Department said.

Logan McDaniel was taken into custody after producing the knife near West 29th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard as he was approached by officers regarding a disturbance a few blocks away.

He was being held in the Jefferson County Jail pending charges of felony menacing on police officers.

Police responded to a call in the 8000 block of West 33rd Avenue of a man reportedly throwing trash onto a property, slamming the fence gate and turning on the exterior water at the house.

McDaniel was found near Crown Hill Cemetery. Officers ordered McDaniel to put down the knife and he did, then he was taken into custody.

There were no injuries.

The resident in the West 33rd Avenue home identified McDaniel as the man who was causing the disturbance, police said.
