STOCKTON, Calif. -- The inmate who became known as the "hot felon" is now a free man after Jeremy Meeks was released Tuesday from prison.

Meeks' mugshot was posted on Facebook and went viral. Almost immediately, he became known as "hot felon."

Meeks was arrested in 2014 and sentenced to more than two years in prison for robbery, gun possession and other charges.

Now that's he's out of prison, he wants to be an actor and model. Meeks posted to Instagram announcing his freedom with a picture of himself and his new manager, Jim Jordan.

Meeks will be be at a transitional housing facility for a few weeks before he is a completely free, the Los Angeles Times reported.

“We have a lot in store regarding Jeremy’s new career,” Jordan told the Times. “There are a multitude of offers on the table. Jeremy is humbled and grateful and overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support and prayers for him and his family.”
