ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — In the span of three days, the Super Bowl champion Broncos lost their top two quarterbacks, with Peyton Manning retiring and Brock Osweiler leaving for the Houston Texans.

Osweiler agreed to a four-year, $72 million contract with $37 million guaranteed instead of becoming the successor to Manning. The Broncos reportedly offered a four-year $64 million contract with $32 million guaranteed.

Broncos players took to Twitter to offer their congratulations for their former teammate, who they could meet in Week 1 because the Texans will play in Denver this season.
