Police found injured baby in Lakewood home

LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Police on Monday were investigating the death of a 3-month-old girl who suffered from what they called “unexplained injuries.”

Lakewood police said they were called to a home in the 5300 block of West 16th Avenue a little after 5 p.m. Thursday. A call to 911 said there was a child there who was having difficulty breathing.

Emergency personnel took her to the hospital. The child’s 20-year-old father was also in the residence at the time. The girl remained hospitalized until she died late Sunday afternoon, police said.

No arrests have been made, although the case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Lakewood police at 303-987-7111.
