DENVER -- A common year has 365 days. A leap year has 366, which is Feb. 29. A leap year happens every four years to synchronize the calendar year with the solar year.

So what does that mean to you? Great deals at restaurants and a TV news story if your baby was born on this day. That’s where Jennifer Ginn and her new baby boy come in. He was born on leap day. Weighing in at 7 pounds, 5 ounces, welcome Antonio Ginn.

Now here’s the part of the story where we reveal the surprise. Antonio is Ginn’s second leap year baby.

“Everybody thinks we planned it and we did not plan this," she said.

Then she breaks out in laughter.

Giovanni Ginn was born on Feb. 9, 2004. So, according to leap years, Giovanni is 3 years old,

“Yeah, officially,” Ginn said with a smile.

Coincidence? We don’t think so.

“It’s a major coincidence. We’ve been hearing that so much but it was not planned,” Ginn said.

But where does dad fit in all this?

“I’m at the bottom of the totem pole,” dad Anthony Ginn admitted.

At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if it was planned or not. Fact is, little Antonio is one beautiful baby boy.
