DENVER — Traffic headed to Coors Field on Friday night should ease up after crews with the Colorado Department of Transportation completed emergency repairs on the 20th Street bridge over Interstate 25.

CDOT shut down the eastbound side of the bridge at I-25 to fix a damaged expansion joint. Although crews didn’t expect to finish until after 8 p.m., they completed the repairs sooner than expected.

Extra traffic is in the area because of the Colorado Avalanche-Detroit Red Wings alumni game at Coors Field.

CDOT recommended southbound I-25 drivers to exit at Park Avenue West, or take Speer Boulevard go northbound on I-25 and exit at 20th Street.
