Large fire breaks out at recycling center near I-70 and Holly

DENVER — Thick smoke could be seen Tuesday coming from a fire at a recycling and trash center near Interstate 70 and Holly Street.

The fire was first reported about 1:15 p.m. and several crews from the Denver Fire Department were on the scene battling the blaze.

The flames were brought under control and the smoke was just about gone by about 2 p.m.
