LAKEWOOD, Colo. — Lakewood police detectives have obtained a warrant Friday for a man they suspect stabbed a passenger on an RTD bus early Christmas Eve morning.

Brian Jacob Delome, 34, was arrested on Wednesday on unrelated warrants out of Denver by Walsenburg police.

After his arrest, Lakewood detectives, who suspected Delome’s involvement in the stabbing, also obtained a warrant for him on suspicion of attempted first degree murder and first degree assault. Delorme remains in custody for now in Walsenburg, Colo.

The stabbing occurred shortly after 1 a.m. on Christmas Eve on an RTD bus.

The suspect who was described as wearing a complete Santa Claus suit got into some type of argument with another male passenger, 33, and stabbed him while still on the bus. The victim was transported to a hospital and survived his injuries.

The bus driver stopped the bus on Sheridan Boulevard at Florida Avenue. Police say the suspect then got off the bus and walked away.

The suspect, who was wearing the Santa suit, stabbed a 33-year-old man, according to police.

Arrangements for transporting Delorme to the Jefferson County Jail, as well as his scheduled first court appearance have yet to be finalized, Lakewood Police say.
