LANGHORNE, Pa. -- A high school basketball coach who apparently head-butted a referee during a game has been put on leave, the school said Wednesday.

Videos posted online show Neshaminy High School boys basketball coach Jerry Devine going up to a referee during a game Tuesday night after disagreeing with a call.

The team was trailing Pennsbury High School, 46-42, with less than a minute to play in the game.

As Devine came onto the court, another referee approached him and the coach appeared to head-butt the official, knocking him to the floor. Devine was ejected from the game.

The school district said in a statement that Devine, who teaches algebra and history, has been placed on administrative leave.
