Sean Overstreet is being sought as a person of interest in the stabbing of a man in Fremont County, while Courtney Plante has been arrested, the Fremont County Sheriff's Office said.

COTOPAXI, Colo. — A teenage woman has been arrested and a second person is being sought after an attempted murder Monday night, the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office said.

The unidentified male victim said he was trying to help someone who was broken down on County Road 1A near Cotopaxi, between Salida and Canon City, when he was attacked. The man was stabbed several times and suffered life-threatening injuries.

The sheriff’s office said the man ran toward a store in Cotopaxi and stopped another driver. But the attackers chased him down in his vehicle and rammed the vehicle that picked him up before driving away.

The victim’s vehicle was later found abandoned nearby.

The sheriff’s office said Wednesday that Courtney Plante, 19, was arrested during a traffic stop Tuesday night in Florence.

She is being held in the Fremont County Jail without bond and faces charges of first-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and aggravated motor vehicle theft.

The sheriff’s office said Sean Overstreet, 37, is still a person of interest and is being sought.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 719-276-5547 or the Fremont County Crimestoppers at 719-275-7867.
