DENVER -- A police chase that began in Lakewood late Monday night ended in Denver with five suspects arrested.

It started when Lakewood and Denver Police officers pursued a stolen vehicle from the area of 5th Avenue and Sheridan Boulevard to the 1600 block of Vance Street.

After that, five were taken into custody, two of whom were caught after fleeing on foot, according to Denver Police. A gun and hammer were also confiscated in the arrests.

The stolen vehicle, a Blue Subaru Forester, also reportedly matches the description of a car used in an aggravated robbery reported in the 700 block of West 8th Avenue earlier Monday afternoon. The robbery reportedly involved a gun and an axe.

Police are investigating whether the incidents are connected.
