LEADVILLE, Colo. -- A runaway reindeer broke free from Santa Claus on Saturday at the base of Ski Cooper in Leadville.

A little bit of chaos as "comet" ran around the base and a couple ski patrolmen tried to wrangle him in.

At one point you can hear someone yell, "Watch out for the reindeer!"

This video captured by a young skiier.

Comet then took off running and really gave her wranglers a run for their money.

Eventually,  Santa was able to catch Comet and bring her back to the base.

Thankfully, no one was hurt in the great escape
