We are just one week away from Christmas and new research from Nielsen suggest one in four shoppers haven’t even started their holiday shopping. Today is Free Shipping Day and tomorrow is Super Saturday, two shopping holidays catering to procrastinating shoppers. Despite these big sale days, not every product is a good deal this weekend, so Kendal Perez with is here to share the best buys.

Food gifts.

Gourmet food baskets and goodies make for great gifts, and today’s Free Shipping Day offers huge savings to the buyer since these items often require expedited shipping to avoid spoilage. This beautiful basket from Harry & David, for example, ships free today and is guaranteed to arrive by Christmas Eve at no additional cost. Other food gift stores participating in Free Shipping Day include Omaha Steaks, who is offering 50% off sitewide and free shipping.

Clothing is a very popular gift this year, second only to gift cards. Today’s Free Shipping Day features 60% more deals on clothing compared to yesterday, with some deals tying and even beating Cyber Monday’s apparel deals, according to H&M, for example, is offering free shipping on all orders today only and has tons of festive clothing and gift ideas. Lucky Brand is offering free shipping plus 50% off and Lane Bryant is offering free shipping plus $20 off $90 orders.

Both Free Shipping Day and Super Saturday are great for cookware deals. According to, a deal-tracking website, shoppers can expect deals of up to 70% off cookware items and kitchen gadgets like coffeemakers, skillets, dutch ovens and more. Check out department store sales from Macy’s, JCPenney and Kohl’s, but don’t forget discount retailers like TJMaxx and HomeGoods, too. You can find deep discounts on brands like Le Creuset, Calphalon, T-Fal and more.

“Break Apart” Gifts.

Buying one gift and breaking it apart into several gifts is a great way to save time and money this season. Sam’s Club offers great “break apart” gifts like these baskets and gift cards which you can gift to several people on your list. What’s more, Sam’s Club offers free in-store pickup, meaning you can submit your order online or call it in, and an associate will gather everything for you!

Parents scrambling to fulfill kids’ wish lists will be happy to learn that now is a great time to find toy deals. Retailers increase stock of toys ahead of the holiday season and mark down remaining inventory as we get closer to Christmas. Walmart is a great outlet for hot toys at low prices, while Target also offers an array of toy gifts ranging from dolls to board games to electronics.
