Aurora man charged in death of father

WESTMINSTER, Colo. — An Aurora man was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder in the death of his father, the 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office said.

Jason Paul Beamer, 37, beat his father in a home weeks ago, leaving him with injuries that caused his death, the DA’s office said.

Westminster police responded to a home in the 7200 block of Newton Street on Nov. 17 and found a 68-year-old man beaten and covered in blood.

The man, Robert Beamer, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he later died.

Jason Beamer was charged with first-degree murder after deliberation, first-degree assault with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury, felony menacing and one count of violent crime.

His preliminary court hearing is Jan. 15.
