LAKEWOOD, Colo. --  After days of freezing temperatures, we end the weekend with yet another round of snow on Sunday night.

The cities of Centennial and Lakewood both announced that they were on accident alert Sunday night, meaning that police in those cities will respond only to accidents causing injury, involving DUI, hit-and-run or vehicles stuck in the road way.

According to meteorologist Mark Monstrola, the snow will generally stay light in the Metro and the plains, with isolated heavy pockets at times. Accumulations were estimated around 1"-2" for the Front Range and the plains, with more possible in the foothills and higher elevations.

Because of this, lows will dip into the teens and single digits again tonight.  Scattered snow showers are expected to develop throughout the area overnight and into Monday morning.
