Woman killed in early morning double shooting in Aurora

AURORA, Colo. -- A woman was killed in a double shooting in Aurora early Friday morning, Aurora Police reported.

The incident allegedly happened in the east parking lot of the Montview Bar and Grill at Montview Blvd. and Nome Street just before 1:40 a.m.

Early investigation told police that the victims were involved in an altercation with an unknown man outside of the bar, during that altercation the suspect reportedly pull out a gun, fired shots and struck both of the victims.

The man drove himself and the woman to the emergency room with gun shot wounds, police said.

The female victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital, authorities said.  The man was expected to survive.

There was no suspect information available.   Aurora Police began a homicide investigation.

Montview Blvd. was reopened but Nome Street remained closed Friday morning.
