One person was shot in the leg of a Safeway parking lot in Aurora on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015.

AURORA, Colo. — One person was shot in the leg in a Safeway parking lot on Thursday morning and a suspect is on the loose, the Aurora Police Department said.

The incident happened at East Hampden Avenue and South Tower Road.

The victim was taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said. The extent of the injuries is not known.

No description of a suspect was given by police.
