DENVER —  SAT, ACT or both?

The question made even more complicated for high school students, now that a new version of the SAT is due to debut in March.

It means college hopefuls will now have three choices, because the old version will also still be available.

Many students are planning to take all three, but is that necessary?  The new version of the SAT is supposed to focus less on vocabulary and more on reasoning.

Consultants say, the old SAT is probably not a great choice for most students and now that the new SAT will be more like the ACT.

The College Board is offering free online prep courses with Kahn Academy.  The Washington post has a quiz you can take to decide between tests. Take the quiz.
