GALLOWAY, N.J. — A New Jersey resident says he has photo evidence that he spotted the infamous Jersey Devil.
Dave Black, of Little Egg Harbor Township, was driving past a golf course on Route 9 in Galloway when he spotted the monster, he told NJ.com.
Black took a couple of pictures, but only one of them clearly showed the devil as described in dozens of stories. The photo showed a creature with dark brown fur, wings on its back and cloven feet. He described it as a “large, flying mammal about the size of a deer.”
Details of the New Jersey Devil date back to the 1700s. Jersey residents continue to spread tales about the mythical monster and claim to have spotted it, but there has been no real proof of it existing.
Black insisted the picture he took of the Jersey Devil was not “Photoshopped or a staged thing.”
“People have said it’s fake, but it’s not. I’m honestly just looking for an explanation for what I saw,” Black told NJ.com.
A video, taken by Emily Martin, also captured the Jersey Devil in Leeds Point, where according to legend, the monster was born.
