COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. —  An apartment leasing agent stabbed a man several times with scissors after being attacked Monday morning, the Colorado Springs Police Department said.

The incident happened in the 1500 block of Yuma Street about 9 a.m. Police said Johnny London, 39, got into an argument with the leasing agent when he allegedly threatened the man with a stun gun and began to beat him.

The agent fought back, then grabbed a pair of scissors and stabbed the man, police said. London grabbed leasing papers, a cellphone and the master keys before leaving the scene, police said.

London ran a short distance before he was apprehended, police said. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but he was expected to recover.

This incident remains under investigation.
