AURORA, Colo. — A man was shot and seriously injured early Monday morning outside a townhome complex as he was walking to his vehicle, the Aurora Police Department said.

The shooting happened in the 14000 block of East 13th Avenue, on the southeast corner of 13th and Sable Boulevard, just after 5:30 a.m., police said.

The man was taken to University Hospital by a family member, but the extent of his injuries was not known, though he’s expected to survive.

Police said the man was walking to his vehicle when he was confronted by three young Hispanic males. After a confrontation, one of the suspects shot the victim, police said.

The suspects then fled in a dark-colored vehicle. Police do not believe there is a connection with the shooting to the one that took place Sunday morning at 348 Potomac Way.

Anyone with information is asked to call Aurora police at 720-739-6113 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
