Hiker rescue closes U.S. 6 for nearly four hours

CLEAR CREEK COUNTY, Colo. — U.S. 6 in Clear Creek Canyon was closed for nearly four hours Sunday as an injured hiker was rescued, the Golden Fire Department said.

The hiker suffered a leg injury and rescue crews used ropes to bring down the hiker at mile marker 264. Nearly three miles of the canyon were closed between mile markers 263 and 265.

The condition of the hiker was not released.
