WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — About 30 to 40 people were evacuated from a senior resource center in Wheat Ridge on Friday because of a device that was thrown near the front of the building, center officials said.

The clients were evacuated to neighboring facilities while police investigated the potential threat.

Officers from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and members of a bomb squad conducted the investigation.

Wheat Ridge police said the device was not explosive.
