Suspect accused of robbing 2 Denver banks Monday, Sept. 14

DENVER — Investigators believe the same robber hit two banks in Denver on Monday.

The Wells Fargo branch at 400 S. Colorado Blvd. was robbed at 11 a.m., then the U.S. Bank branch at 730 S. Colorado Blvd. was hit.

Police said the suspect is a black man, 5-foot 8 with a muscular build and a goatee.

He appeared to wear a black wig and a black ball cap with a white star (possibly a Houston Astros logo) in surveillance images.

Additionally, the suspect wore a gray T-shirt with a “Super Bowl 38” logo, dark pants and sunglasses in the Wells Fargo robbery.

The suspect wore a white tank top with possibly a “Nuggets” logo and dark pants during the U.S. Bank robbery.
