NEW YORK — Candice Swanepoel had the right idea: If you fall, dust yourself off and get right back up.

Of course, Swanepoel’s fall was on the runway Friday during the Givenchy show at New York Fashion Week. But what could have been a disaster was shrugged off by the Victoria’s Secret model.

“(L)eft with little scratches but mostly a bruised ego,” she posted on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of her scraped knees.

She thanked the people who helped her get back on her feet.

But it was the smile the South African model, 26, flashed to the crowd that had social media praising her — and relating to her mishap.

Swanepoel is one of the top-earning models in the world. She ranked No. 9 on Forbes magazine’s 2013 list, with $3.3 million. She also topped Maxim’s Hot 100 list of beautiful women in 2014.
