Dog rescued after falling 200 feet in open mine shaft in Roxborough area

ROXBOROUGH PARK, Colo. — Crews from West Metro Fire Rescue saved a dog Monday after it fell through an open mine shaft and dropped about 200 feet to the floor of a clay mine.

Technical crews used a steep-angle rope rescue, with two crew members lowered into the shaft to save Bailey the dog.

The pooch was lifted up and reunited with a very grateful owner.
